Three guests from our metro area’s Villages will talk, provide information and answer questions on the “Villages” of the various quarters of Portland and suburbs.

The “Villages” started in Denmark, and there are over 100 in the US now. These voluntary organizations of nearby aging householders offer and receive services that members choose, to help them to remain in their homes. Available services range from referrals to vetted handymen to drives for shopping and medical appointments, or daily phone checks. Each organization also offers regular social gatherings: outings, happy hours, coffees, lectures, crafting groups, potlucks, etc.

If you are thinking of yourself or your parents - Come learn, enjoy a little Jewish thought, and a lot of sociability over bagels and coffee.
