Humanistic Judaism Study Group - KS Community Room

The most recent issue of the Humanistic Judaism Magazine (Fall 2019) includes an article by Marc Switlitz that explores the importance of science within Humanistic Judaism. Marc conducted a survey of SHJ members on this topic and presented his findings at the SHJ@50 conference last April. This article is based on his presentation. The Humanistic Judaism Magazine is published by the Society for Humanistic Judaism.

Some of our discussion questions will include:

  • What do you think the relationship is between science and religion? Is there conflict, collaboration or are they independent?

  • What is the impact of science on Humanistic Judaism?

  • Does science support or interfere with our expectations about spirituality, poetry, tradition and community?

The Humanistic Judaism Study Group is a self-facilitated study group. Registration is not required and there is no fee. All are welcome!
