The Portland Theater Scene is Feature of Our Sunday Program, Dec. 15

What makes a successful play in Portland? What goes into the production? What is happening with audience trends? Dámaso Rodriguez, Artistic Director of Portland’s Artists Repertory Theater, will be the featured speaker for our monthly Kol Shalom Third Sunday Program on Dec. 15.

In addition to giving an inside view of a Portland theater institution, Damaso will be giving us information on the upcoming Artists Rep production of “Indecent,” a Jewish themed play that tells the story of another play, “God of Vengence” introduced in the 1920’s. Its actors were arrested shortly after the initial production. See p. 4 for special reduced rate ticket information.

Dámaso Rodríguez is in his seventh season as Artistic Director of Artists Repertory Theatre . He has directed at many theaters including the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, American Conservatory Theater, and Pasadena Playhouse. Dámaso is a recipient of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, the Back Stage Garland Award, the NAACP Theatre Award among many others.

The Sunday program runs from noon until two with the talk shortly after noon. Bagels and spread social hour will follow the talk. All are welcome.
