Happy Halloween!!!

We will xplore and learn a little Yiddish. We'll hear, listen to, and read three songs: Mekhuteneste Mayne (Mother-in-law of Mine), talking to her new relative; Dem Milners Trern (The Miller's Tears), ruing the passage of time; and Lebn Zol Kolumus (Long Live Columbus), a positive take on immigrant America. Then we'll read and talk about Getreieh Zind (Loyal Sins), a poem by Jacob Glatstein (transliteration and translation attached).
